Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。张伟（罗乐林饰）和张国星（钱小豪饰）是亲兄弟，其中张伟在警队任职。张国星与何力华（戴志伟饰）合作协助湖南帮分销贼赃，但最终被张伟捉住，兄弟之间反目成仇。为了保护自己，张国星和何力华被迫为警方提供情报，成为线人对付湖南帮的邦哥。星和力华被迫参与翻版录像带的制作，却在警方行动中被捕。张伟得知这一切后，劝告张国星停止行动，但星无法自拔。在这个过程中，星向恋人方思敏倾诉内心的矛盾和恐惧。随着邦哥被捕，湖南帮的局势变得更加复杂。帮哥出狱后，查出是张国星和何力华出卖了他，导致力华被杀。为了报仇，张国星决定亲手杀死邦哥，但情势危急。在紧急关头，张伟冒着生命危险相救，才使得张国星免于一死。两兄弟在生死关头，前嫌尽释，可能重新团结。然而，为了破案，张国星自愿成为卧底，深入湖南帮，却被帮派头目瑛姐识破身份，使得他的生命陷入危险。。
