CAN witnesses a murder in a small town.The police don't allow him to leave after his testimony.On the other hand,a quarantine is declared due to rabid dogs.The whole town turns into purgatory with no exit is almost at the edge of insanity.。1951年在中国西北沙漠地带，解放军某骑兵连奉命对特务头子金冶中及起武装残余进行围剿。经过激烈战斗，敌人大部被歼，但是金冶中和两个敌兵却漏网逃逸。一班长钟永明虽然负伤，却坚持带着战士李玉根和小姜，继续追击穷寇。途中遇到大风，使敌人的遗迹消失，他们便兵分三路继续追寻。不久，小姜追上敌人，只身与敌人进行搏斗，金冶中的坐骑和一敌兵被击毙，但自己也不幸负伤。钟永明、李玉根闻声及时赶到并继续追击敌人。。
