第4部门在中东最危险的区域执行一个绝密的任务，被一伙称为黑骑士的私人军队伏击，并被当做人质。部门首领纳什奥尔森逃脱囚禁，他发现自己完成那个任务是不可能的。纳什开始一个人拯救自己的团队，来完成这次任务。。A film director gathers his favorite actresses, those he worked with and those he loved. He wants to make a film about women but he doesn’t reveal much: he observes them, takes cue, until his imaginary throw them into another era, in a past where the noise of the sewing machines fills a workplace handled and populated by women, where men have minor and marginal roles and cinema...。1973年9月8日、『人間革命』のタイトルで東宝と創価学会系のシナノ企画の共同製作で映画化された。1976年にほぼ同じスタッフ・出演者で『続・人間革命』が公開されている。スタッフ、キャストとも、創価学会との関わりを全く問わずに幅広く集められた（主演の丹波に至っては、学会のイベントでのスピーチで間違って南無阿弥陀仏と念仏を唱え、仰天させたというエピソードを持つ）。そのため、宗教団体が出資参加する映画としては非常に豪華な顔ぶれであり、かなりの娯楽色も盛り込まれている。。
